Using HART Domestic Chip HT1200M to Implement Burst Mode of HART Equipment

Burst-Mode (burst mode) in HART devices is a high-speed data transmission mode, and its mode usually has several data sources. In data buses, burst mode usually becomes a channel designed to cater to one device.

Generally speaking, burst mode is an optional mode for HART products, but its use is highly recommended. HART burst mode supports publishing cyclic process data using "burst" messages. In this mode, the device is instructed to issue responses to commands continuously without requiring any further host or host action.

If the field device supports burst mode, all commands 103-105 and commands 107-109 must be executed. Additionally, devices implementing burst mode must support at least 3 burst messages. Existing legacy field devices updated from HART 5 are only allowed to support one burst message.

Using the domestic HART chip HT1200M, the HART Burst mode can be easily realized.

Burst mode can be configured through the Hart handheld terminal or AMS software. The configured transmission is as shown in the figure below:

Enhanced Burst Transfer Mode：

For wireless HART, Burst mode should also be supported, and the baud rate can be faster, up to 250Kbit/s.

For wired HART devices, a two-wire loop wiring method is used. Since it must work in an environment of less than 4mA, it is recommended to use the HART polling mode for diagnostic information (diagnositics) instead of the Burst mode.
