WirelessHART core technology has been developed quite maturely over the years and is still being improved. Its flexibility and adaptability make it well suited for harsh industrial environments.WirelessHART devices fall into three main types: wireless field devices, adapters and gateways wireless. Field device wire field devices are connected to a process or plant facility, which can be a device with built-in WirelessHART or a HART-enabled device connected to a WirelessHART adapter. This makes it easy to expand existing plants or to quickly leverage wireless technology in new installations. Measurement points that were previously inaccessible due to cable costs or environmental constraints are now able to easily collect data. At the same time, wireless field devices can be powered by a number of different power sources, including solar, AC, loop power, or batteries.
Adapters WirelessHART adapters connect existing wired HART devices to the WirelessHART network. The adapter connects to 4 to 20mA to capture HART signals. One adapter is capable of connecting multiple HART instruments, thus reducing installation costs. The adapter is capable of being powered by a loop or battery. This allows for full utilization of existing equipment on the one hand, and the expansion of applications on the other, enabling wired HART devices to be upgraded with wireless transmission of measurement and diagnostic information.
Wireless Gateway
According to the standard, the WirolessHART gateway consists of three parts. The wireless components connected to remote field devices are called wireless access points; the network manager is responsible for configuring the network, scheduling communication between devices and monitoring the status of the network. It also controls the connectivity of the mesh network and manages the information security of the field devices; the gateway interface part is responsible for connecting the WirolessHART network to the plant backbone or host system. These three parts can be integrated together, or in any combination or separately. The WirelessHART network mesh design makes it easy to add or move devices. As long as the device is within range of other devices on the network, it can communicate. To flexibly meet the needs of different applications, the WirelessHART standard supports a variety of message modes, including one-way distribution of process and control values, spontaneous notification via exception reports, ad hoc requests/responses, and automatic chunking of large data sets. These features allow communications to be customized to the requirements of the application, thereby reducing power consumption and overhead.
